A Day In The Life

On March 24th 2004, on the vigil of the Solemnity of the Feast of the Incarnate Word, His Excellency Andrea Maria Erba, Bishop of the Diocese of Velletri Segni in Italy, has erected the Institute Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara as a Religious Institute of diocesan right. The Servants of the Lord have been present in the Diocese of Segni for several years and have their principal offices in that city.

The document of approval was read during the Holy Mass of thanksgiving for the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute of the Incarnate Word. The Mass took place at the altar of the Chair of Peter in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The Holy Mass was presided by Bishop Andrea Erba and concelebrated by Msgr. Tricarico and more than fifty priests of the congregation of the Incarnate Word present in Italy. There were also other missionaries and diocesan local priests.

Decree of the Canonical Erection of the Feminine Religious Institute “Servants of the Lord and of the Virgin of Matará”

Andrea María Erba, by the will of God and of the Apostolic See, Bishop of Velletri-Segni, convinced that the Institute “Servants of the Lord and of the Virgin of Matará,” founded on the 19th of March, 1984, in San Rafael, Argentina, by the Reverend Father Carlos Miguel Buela, IVE, has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, having given good fruits as much by the constant increase of vocations as by the gravity of the living of consecrated life and of the missionary commitment;

Receiving the request of Mother María de Anima Christi Van Eijk, General Superior of the Institute;

Considering the positive opinions of the Bishops where the Institute is present, in answer to the consultation made by myself on the 22 nd of April, 2002;

It being seen that on the date of 31st of December, 2000, I received in the Diocese the General House of the Institute, according to c. 312 § 2 of the CIC, following closely the religious life, the apostolic works and the vicissitudes of the communities scattered throughout the world;

Seeing the Constitutions, according to c. 595 § 1 of the CIC;

It being seen that on the date of the 22 nd of April, 2002, the Apostolic See having been consulted according to c. 579, by a letter mailed to the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life;

After mature reflection and invoking the help of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary, Most Holy, with my authority as the Bishop of the Principal See and according to the faculties that this Right attributes to me:

I Decree

1. To approve the Constitutions of the Institute “Servants of the Lord and of the Virgin of Matará” (c. 595 § 1 of the CIC).

2. To erect the feminine Institute “Servants of the Lord and of the Virgin of Matará” as a Religious Institute of diocesan right in the Diocese of Velletri-Segni (c. 579 of the CIC).
