Reflections from the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious Board of Directors Lord, You are the Divine Physician. We beg you to heal our brothers and sisters whose innocence in childhood was assaulted by the very ones sent to heal in Your Name. The beautiful gift of an unfolding masculinity and femininity in Your children has been profaned. We beg You, Lord, touch with Your creative and healing hands the souls of those who have been hurt,
We also pray in reparation especially for the sins of those who have harmed your children. May they be sustained and protected from discouragement or despair. You, Lord, do not quench the smoldering wick, break the bruised reed nor abandon the lost sheep. Sustain and strengthen the faith of Your people. Rebuild communion in the Church which is Your Body on earth. It is in gazing upon your Face that we will hear and recognize Your living voice speaking to us in the Church, in the Eucharist, in the Scriptures and in the prayerful depths of our hearts. May Your presence among us be our enduring peace and the cause of our unity. Lord, may we all, priests, religious, and laity, be witnesses of relationships in Christ which are humbly disciplined in faith, deeply committed in hope and permeated by the fire of love. Amen. |
