Pax Christi Institute, a contemplative-apostolic Christian faith community, was founded by Rev. Mother Teresa Santoyo in the Diocese of Corpus Christi on July 19, 1969. The fundamental purpose of the Pax Christi Institute is to serve as an enabling instrument of peace to the Pax Christi member in pursuit of the attainment of Perfect love, oneness with God. The special purpose is to take the Good News of Jesus Christ our Peace to all mankind through a dual ministry: Spiritual - Lead the People of God to a profound understanding of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Through the sharing of the Pax Christi Spirituality enable the effecting of the salvific love mission of Our Lord Jesus Christ, "That all may be One." Apostolic - Minister to Jesus Christ in his humanity through compassionate, gentle, prompt service to the poor, the People of God, in their diverse and multiple needs.

Requirements for admission: Be a practicing Roman Catholic, have a strong desire to commit herself to a consecrated life, on admission be between the ages of 17 and 28, be of sound physical and mental health and free from noticeable physical defects, have at least a high school education, have a good personality and ability to relate to others.
