The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, one response to Pope John Paul II’s call for new religious foundations embodying the graces of the New Evangelization, was established in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1997. As Dominicans, and religious women in the New Millennium, the Community draws from the dynamism of both “Old” and “New,” the 800 year richness of St. Dominic’s charism and family, and the graces of the Second Vatican Council, coupled with the fruits of the Church’s New Springtime. By their profession of the Evangelical Councils of chastity, poverty, and obedience, this Dominican community exists for the salvation of souls and the building up of the Church throughout the world. The Community’s mission and charism are strengthened and enriched by a daily Eucharistic Holy Hour in common, choral recitation of the Divine Office, and strong Marian Devotion. Strengthened by their prayer and community life, the Sisters are engaged in the apostolate of passing on the faith to the next generation though teaching in traditional school settings, as well as giving talks and visiting schools and parishes all over the country.

The Community accepts young women between the ages of 17 and 30 (some exceptions may be made).
