FOUNDATION The Daughters of Divine Love Congregation is a religious congregation of women of pontifical right, in which its members pronounce the public vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience; and dedicate themselves to contemplation and apostolic work. The Late Bishop Godfrey Mary Paul Okoye, C.S.Sp, founded the Congregation on July 16, 1969, at Ukpor in Nigeria West Africa. Its Mother House is in Nigeria. CHARISM The Charism of the Congregation is a generous loving response to Divine Love Incarnate. The compelling motive force of this Order and the Sisters who come to it must be an ardent response to God's call to love Him and others. The motto of the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Love is: Caritas Christi Urget Nos - The Love of Christ Urges Us On. APOSTOLATES In keeping with the founder's vision, the diverse apostolate of the Congregation provides services in every walk of life where the manifestation of God's love is needed! Currently this includes; catechesis, education, health care, prison and home visitation, social work, counseling, parish assistance, catering and domestic services, assistance to people who have varied challenges (mental and physical) and persons who are elderly.
